Merchant Payments Ecosystem (MPE), is Europe’s top event for merchants and payments professionals, attracting a global audience and more than 1,500 merchant and payments experts to a three-day conference in Berlin every March. Now in its nineteenth year, MPE is a landmark in the global payments calendar.
MPE approached us with a brief to develop long-form content that could cut-through while establishing its position as a trusted source of thought leadership in global merchant payments. Our task was to produce research-led content that would bring together perspectives from across the industry in a clear and engaging way.
To deliver this, we combined our own novel research and desk research with insights from 35 industry interviews conducted through MPE’s extensive network of industry contacts. These insights were developed into a long-form article of around 4,000 words, designed to explore key trends and challenges shaping the merchant payments sector over the next 18 months.
Once published, this piece was promoted through both Eris Intelligence and MPE’s channels, alongside additional partner networks, helping the research reach a global professional audience. This piece reached an audience of more than 73,000 payments professionals globally, including 13,000 through our own social media networks and reposts. Based on the success of this first article, we were retained to write a second piece of similar length examining leading payments companies’ views on what merchants will be looking for from payments partners in 2027.
