The personal data we collect

Information you give us

• Enquiries. When you use the contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, company, job title and the content of your message.
• Mailing list. When you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address.
• Events and webinars. When you register for an event we host or promote, you give your details to the registration platform used for that event. We receive your name, email address, company and job title, together with attendance information.
• Working with us. If you are a client, supplier or contributor, we hold the business contact details we need to work with you.

Information we obtain from other sources

We work in business-to-business marketing for the payments and fintech sector. To tell relevant professionals about research, reports and events, we obtain business contact details from specialist business data providers and from publicly available professional profiles. This is limited to your name, job title, employer, work email address, location and professional profile address. We do not collect private or sensitive information in this way.

Information collected when you use the site

• Page counts. We count visits to our pages without using cookies. For each page view we record the page, the site that referred you, your country and the type of device. We do not store your IP address and we do not use this information to identify you.
• Analytics cookies. If you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site. If you do not accept them, it is not loaded. See our Cookie Policy.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

How we use personal data and our lawful basis

• To reply to enquiries and provide our services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps to enter into or perform a contract.
• To send our mailing list. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
• To send business-to-business marketing. We send invitations and information about research, reports and events to professionals for whom they are relevant to their role. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest, and that of our clients, in promoting relevant professional content. Every message includes a way to opt out, and we act on opt-outs promptly.
• To run events. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the event you registered for and following up afterwards.
• To understand and improve the site. For cookie-free page counts our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. For analytics cookies it is your consent.
• To meet legal obligations. For example, keeping business and tax records.

We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not sell personal data.

Who we share personal data with

We share personal data only where it is needed for the purposes above:

• Clients and event partners. If you register for an event that we run with or on behalf of a client, your registration details are shared with the companies named on the registration page.
• Service providers. Companies that host our website and database, deliver our email, provide our office email and documents, run event registration and measure site usage. They act on our instructions and may only use the data to provide their service to us.
• Professional advisers and authorities. Where we are required to by law, or where it is needed to protect our legal rights.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the European Union and the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on appropriate safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep personal data

• Enquiries: for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
• Business marketing contacts: until you opt out, or for up to two years if you do not engage with our messages. If you opt out, we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again.
• Event registrations: for up to two years after the event.
• Client and supplier records: for six years after the end of our relationship, as required for accounting and tax purposes.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your data, or to restrict how we use it;
• object to our use of your data, including an absolute right to object to direct marketing;
• ask for your data in a portable format, where this applies;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it and individual logins for our systems.

Children

Our site and services are intended for business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Links to other sites

Our site contains links to other websites, including event registration pages and social platforms. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or notified by other appropriate means.
